Centre at Salisbury is a shopping mall located in Salisbury,
Maryland.It opened in July
of 1990 and was rennovated and
expanded in 2005. A strong department store and specialty store
offering, a sixteen screen cinema, and no other regional mall
competition within a fifty-mile radius make this mall the retailing
center of the Delmarva Peninsula. Conveniently located on US 13 and
easily accessible from the US 13/50 bypass, the mall is able to
draw from a substantial area in excess of forty miles in any
direction for its customer base. The mall also enjoys a strong
tourist customer base given its location on the major Eastern Shore
roadways, its close proximity to Ocean City, and the new addition
of the bypass around Salisbury that has an exit directly in front
of the mall.
Gabriel A. Cannon (born circa 1972)
of Norfolk, Virginia reportedly opened fire at the Centre at
Salisbury on Dec. 23, 1995, at people who he said had robbed and
beaten him some months previously, accordingly to the Virginian-Pilot
report of Cannon's trial.
