Chairo Christian School is a multi-campus Independent Christian School with Campuses in Drouin, Victoria (Senior (yr9-12) and Middle School (yr5-8)), Drouin East (Junior School (Kindergarten-yr4) and Pakenham, Victoria (Kindergarten-yr10). Chairo was founded in 1983 with 19 students and one Teacher on the Drouin East Campus, which was the old Drouin Primary School. Chairo offers specialist classes in Middle School, such as the PAC (Performing Arts Class), VAC (Visual Arts Class) and BATS (Business and Technology Students Class) and a year 9-10 technology class in Senior School, which is very similar to the BATS Class.
The Production is a very important part of the Chairo community. Every year hours and hours of work is put into making the school production bigger and better. In the few years Chairo has had successes such as, 'Fiddler on the Roof', 'Sound of Music', and 'Burger Brain'. This year's (2008) production will be 'Beauty and the Beast'. It was held in July at the Warragul Arts Centre.
Recently Chairo had become part of a program called 'Character First'. This program is based on forty-nine character traits of Jesus. The school plans to study and practice these traits. The traits include Attentiveness, Creativity, Forgiveness, Generosity, Gratefulness and more.
Chairo is part of the Gippsland Inderpendant Schools network, competing in the GIS Sports and Cultural Round Robins.
