Sir Charles Hastings (January 11, 1794 &ndash; March 21, 1866) was a physician and founder of the British Medical Association, originally Provincial Medical and Surgical Association on July 19,1832<ref>Oxford Dictionary of National Biography article by P. He was an authority on chest diseases and wrote numerous scientific papers.

He was knighted in 1850.

He died March 21, 1866
