Charles Robert Burton (13 December 1942 — 15 July 2002) was an British explorer. He took part in the Transglobe Expedition, the first expedition to circumnavigate the globe from pole to pole.

Charlie Burton was born in Cape Town, South Africa. He attended Millfield school and then joined the British Army, serving with the elite Special Air Service and then with various private security firms. He and Sir Ranulph Fiennes spent some four years organizing the Transglobe Expedition and raising money. After the expedition, Burton returned to the security business. He never went on another expedition. He died at his family home in the village of Framfield in Sussex. [1]
