Chauncey Langdon Stickler was born 6 January 1897 in Lansford, America to John James Stickler (1863-1932) and Ellen Clerke (1864-1947) and died 15 May 1987 in Michigan, in America, at the age of 90 years of unspecified causes. Chauncey Langdon married Laura Clarinda Jones in America. Chauncey was born on 6 January 1897 in Lansford, PA, the fifth child of John James Stickler and Ellen Clerke. He grew up in Lansford and graduated from high school in 1915. He enrolled in Bucknell University in PreMed but later decided to enlist in the US Army (1917) where he was assigned to the Medical Department but later transferred to Field Artillery in Kentucky. When the WWI ended, he took a job as a draftsman in Cleveland, OH which he got though his brother, Walter. While in Cleveland he married Laura Jones, but sadly she died not long thereafter.
Chauncey decided to make law his career and enrolled at Dickinson Law School. In his final college year he met Marie Catherine Koenig, a friend of his sister, Olive, and they were married on 4 September 1929. He began private practice in Constantine, MI in 1933 and had a highly successful career in law. He was active in the First Congregational Church, a member of the Masons, Rotary, Knights Templar, and onetime president of the Shrine Club. A staunch Republican, he once was secretary of the Republican County Committee. He enjoyed singing and helped organize the Society for the Preservation & Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America and performed often in quartets. He died 15 May 1987 in Grand Rapids, MI at age ninety.
