Chicago Sports weekly is an American publication, published weekly in downtown
Chicago.
The magazine is distributed widely throughout the Chicago region, but is also available by subscription for readers anywhere.
The magazine publishes reportage, humor, editorials, news, interviews, reviews, cartoons, fiction, and maintains an "Etc." section that is a compilation of many smaller pieces on a myriad of topics.
While the CSW features regular news, commentary and reporting on the Chicago area, the issue is heavily made up of topics serving a national sports audience.
The website, http://csweekly.com features much of the print content, with added
blogging and feedback options.
Published by Reklama Media, CSW plans to launch similar magazines in other cities across the country, creating a network of city-focused sports publications that willingly report on and comment on national stories.
CSW is known for taking an intellectual and highly humorous approach to many issues, and readily discusses topics of sociological, economic, legal or political interest.
The sports magazine is known for employing diverse backgrounds, with many non-sportswriters contributing work on sports topics.
CSW editors and writers are regularly featured on radio and TV, and write for many other publications or
web-sites, including the
New York Times,
ESPN.com,
FoxSports.com, the
Chicago Sun-Times,
McSweeney's, the
Seattle Times, and many others.
A number of authors also contribute writing to the magazine on a weekly basis.
