The Chicago Teachers Union is a labor union representing teachers in the Chicago public school system. It is an affiliate of the AFL-CIO and the American Federation of Teachers and has over 32,000 members. The current officers of the Chicago Teachers Union are: President Marilyn Stewart, Recording Secretary Mary McGuire, Financial Secretary Mark Ochoa, and Treasurer Linda Porter.The Union currently has no Vice-President since past Vice-President Ted Dallas was ousted for alleged financial improprieties[1]

The Chicago Teachers Union has more than 32,000 teacher, paraprofessional and retiree members. The Union is Local 1 of the American Federation of Teachers, an Illinois Federation of Teachers affiliate and affiliated with the Chicago Federation of Labor and the AFL-CIO.
