Chillax is a slang verb created as a
portmanteau of
"chill" and "relax". A related word is "chillaxative", which is
commonly used in the following context: "Hey, man, you are so
uptight and touchy! Take a chillaxative!" It is basically a noun
version of chillax. Both were patented by Whitney Schuster of
Cornwall NY, and were quickly spread into slang throughout the
country.
Background
Originally created by
Princess Alison Kelsey Pack and her
bretheren, Nasif
Syed Ahmed, the Brown, "chillaxin'" is a common slang term used to
reference time spent idly
relaxing with a close friend or group of friends.
It is also used in correlation to "calm down," used in tense to
tell another to quite down, rest, and/or stop. It was accidentally
found as the Princess tried to say "relax" and "chill" indecisevly.
Her following ancestor (later traveling into the past), Whitney
Schuster learned of its awesome power and the Princess granted her
the use of the word.
Controversy still follows this topic as to
how Schuster heard this word and how she even came to the past and
returned to her home time.
Use(Legend)
Upon her discovery
of the word, the Princess immediately repeated the word to her
brother, Brown. Sir Brown Pack, the
father, decided to use the word of Infinity against
the Great Counsel, and two years after doing so, he was made
King of
Down Under. Brown soon saw this
became a
corrupt power,
and conviced the Sirlem to realize the error in his ways. He stood
back in power, and ordered a decree against the word, and forbade
its use throughout the land. Should it be heard, one would be sent
to the
Asylum of Down
Under.
Though Princess didn't want such power to be in the hands
of the wrong, she believed the decree was crossing a line. The rest
of the story remains a mystery...
Trivia
Another (less
common) alternative is
rechill or
re-chill, which
places "relax" at the beginning.
