The China Railways CRH5 is an electric multiple unit high-speed train in use by China Railway High-speed. China Railways has contracted Alstom and Changchun Railway Vehicles to produce 60 sets, which are based on Pendolino trains used in Italy. The CRH5 are non-tilting trains.

The CRH5 is considered a failure due to reliability issues with the train, when compared against competitors such as the CRH1, CRH2, CRH3.

Similar Pendolino trains were also provided to Finland by Alstom, and the Finnish media have also discussed their unreliability at length.
