Chord
Studio is the brain-child of Dave Edwards. Through almost two
decades of invention and innovation for well-known global brands
and on his own, Dave finally realized a great need for musicians -
a band when there is no band. So many musicians write songs alone
in their room (or aren't in a band at all) that they rarely get to
hear what their song sounds like with a full band. On May 31, 2007,
Chord Studio solved this great
need.
With Chord Studio, you
enter the chords to a song, select the instrumentation (including
styles, rhythms, and volume), and either listen or play along. This
is similar to programs such as GarageBand, ACID, or Band-in-a-Box; the only difference:
Chord Studio is online and free.
Plus, it can be used in a variety of ways:
Songwriting
tool: Not in a band? No problem. Try out different
chord
progressions and instrument styles, just like you would with a
real band. You can play your part and sing along while the virtual
band plays the rest.
Personal practice: Enter
the chords and instrumentation for your song, and practice with the
virtual band as you listen through your computer's speakers.
Resource for new stuff: Looking for the perfect
sound? Trying to learn different ways to play your instrument?
Check out our database of sounds and rhythms to fill the void in
your song.
