Chrematizo Label Group contains multiple sublabels, each catering to a different genre of music:
Jacob's Well Records is an independent Christian CCM, Pop and Worship label.
Flagship band Anastasis is a Minneapolis-based band with an eclectic blend of songs ranging from slow, brooding compositions to more contemporary, straight ahead pop rock tunes.
They have received radio airplay on stations from South Florida to New Brunswick, Canada.
Anastasis will challenge your belief in things unseen and resurrect your appreciation of the visceral. Voluminous Records is an independent Christian Hard Rock label.
In the vein of Tooth & Nail and Solid State Records, Voluminous Records generally deals with the underground genres of emo, screamo, hardcore, metal and punk.
Several acts are currently being considered for flagship status on the label.
Expect to see the first Voluminous Records release sometime around January, 2007. Trendency Records is an independent Christian R&B, Gospel and Hip-Hop label.
Flagship artist Gina Green's debut album (on Grapetree Records) sold very well worldwide and topped out at #2 on the U.K.
Gospel charts.
Her third album, "Tell 'Um", shows remarkable growth and maturity.
With an unabashed Afro-centric fashion sense and Neo-Soul flavor, she will change the way modern Gospel is viewed by the believer and non-believer alike.
The video for "Testimony" is currently receiving airplay on TBN's "JCTV" and satellite channel "Sprit TV".
On the heels of winning the 2006 Black Music Award for "Best Gospel Performer - Female", Gina is destined for success.History
Chrematizo Label Group was founded in 2004 by now president and owner
David C.
Coleman in
Minneapolis, MN.
Originally the company was called "Jacob's Well Records."
Biblically,
Jacob's well was the place where Jesus met the Samaritan woman and shared the miraculous story of "living water" (John 4:5-26).
The original mission of Jacob's Well Records was simply to meet listeners "where they're at" and share the story of salvation and reconciliation exemplified in the Jacob's well story.
In 2006, it was decided in their best interest to change the company name.
They saw the change in spiritual terms as if God were renaming them as he had many individuals in the bible.
For instance, Saul became Paul.
Abram became Abraham.
They derived the new name, "Chrematizo", from Acts 11:26.
At that time God, through Saul and Barnabas, divinely labeled the disciples and those of "The Way" as "Christians".
The word "Chrematizo" means "to be called" by God.
Jacob's Well Records has been renamed
Chrematizo Label Group and called by God to become a mouthpiece for Godly truths in these difficult times<ref name="Chrematizo Label Group"> </ref>.
Mission
Our mission has expanded from simply conveying the gospel to being a virtual "mouthpiece for God and His ways".
We commit to taking the gospel out unto the world.
We commit to speaking God's truths with no reservations.
We commit to rescuing lost souls and, beyond that, strengthening the remnant of Christians around the globe as we witness a "falling away" of the faithful.
This is our mission!
