Chris Fuller is the writer and director of "Loren
Cass," a 83-minute independent feature film shot in
St.
Petersburg, Florida, about the October
1996 St. Petersburg
rebellions.
Fuller was 15 years old during the Fall 1996
rebellions, triggered by the October 24 police killing of 18 year
old
TyRon Lewis,
who was shot through the windshield of his car at a traffic stop.
Residents of predominatley African American South St. Petersburg
burst forth in frustrations with police brutality and racism. In an
interview, Fuller recounted that tension in school and on the
streets enveloped him. As a result, he says, he began to write
about it.

with Fuller. Craft, then 23, told the
St. Petersburg
Times in 2006 that the film required eight years of work
and was produced for less than

Atlanta Underground Film
Festival in 2006. A showing at the
