Christopher Ingvaldson
(born on November 1, 1969) is currently living in
Vancouver, British Columbia with
his wife and two pugs. He is a
teacher, and former
athlete.
History
Chris Ingvaldson was
born in
New
Westminster,
British Columbia on
November 1,
1969. He is a graduate of the prestigious
St.
George's School and the
University of British
Columbia. At the age of 14 he began playing
field hockey, and at the
age of 17, Chris began his 13 year stint on the
British Columbia
provincial team. From there, he went on to play for
Team Canada, but sustained an
injury in
1994 which ended his
career with the National Team. For a brief while Chris Ingvaldson
was the poster child for the Mens Field Hockey Association of
Canada. Promoting fitness to the chronically obese and showing the
world that field hockey is not just a girls sport, he is still
viewed on the international circuit as nothing short of a
revolutionary. Field Hockey Canada has a page on Mr. Ingvaldson
that can be viewed by clicking

By some tragic twist
of fate, after his serious injury and an earlier then expected
mid-life crisis, Chris Ingvaldson ended up as the head of the
Social
Studies department at
West Point Grey Academy - a
Vancouver
independent school - where he spent 9 years. While there, Chris was
deeply involved in the school's
Model United Nations program, and
even starred in a remake of the music video for the classic
Norwegian hit, Kjempeform.
(The video can be seen by clicking
here.) During
his time at WPGA, a serious dihydrogen monoxide contamination of
the school led to the loss of most of his hair.

During
his eight year tenure at West Point Grey Academy, Mr.Ingvaldson
left an indelible mark on his students and became the stuff of
legendas well as a beloved fixture of school life. He would strive
to extend his efforts beyond what was required from the curriculum.
As he once famously stated while gesturing at a social studies 11
textbook, "a monkey could learn this material..." Thus, he would
try to have his students see beyond the textbook's teachings and
gain a deeper understanding of both the material and its
significance in a broader historical context. In effect, he
encouraged his students to strive for an understanding of the
material rather than simply memorizing it. Near the end of the
2005-2006 school year, much to the disappointment (but not
surprise) of his students, Chris Ingvaldson announced his
retirement from West Point Grey Academy.

September 2006, he will be teaching at
St. George's
School.

Chris: The Man

Chris Ingvaldson (affectionately known as Mr.
I, Mr. Beaverhausen, or Uncle Ingy, among other things) is a deeply
complex individual. He is a self admitted nerd, enjoying reading,
politics, debating, roast beef, ripping telephone books in half,
and, above all,
Star
Wars and
Star
Trek. He is said to own a very realistic replica of the
Boba Fett helmet,
and it was a sad day indeed when he slept through the premiere of
Star Wars Episode
III: Revenge of the Sith.

Chris can be
quoted as saying such things as "yes, but looks aren't everything"
(in response to comments pertaining to someone being funny),
"ladies, gentlemen, and [
insert name of troublesome
student]", "needs more cowbell", or, more recently "You see?
This is why I'm leaving". He is frequently hit on by gay men, but
it should be pointed out that he is not
Brokeback, and definitely does
not listen to
Coldplay.

Individuals who
have gained Mr. Ingvaldson's admiration include
Elvis Presley, Danielle
de Carle, Ashley Nguyen,
Peter Sellers,
Captain Janeway,
John Williams (composer
not guitarist or accordion player),
John Locke,
General George Patton, B.D.
Jones, and many others.

Contrary to popular
belief, Mr. Ingvaldson has never been incarcerated at a Turkish
prison, nor has he any wish to see a grown man naked. His favorite
films, however, are generally about
gladiators.

He is notorious for his
inability to return marked tests, assignments or other borrowed
items to their rightful owners on time. For example, Anthony Wan,
who is mentioned later in this article, lent Mr. Ingvaldson a book
in May 2006, and although he finished the book within the month, as
of mid August 2006, the book still remains with Mr.
Ingvaldson.

He has on numerous occasions
expressed his admiration and respect for one B.D. Jones, the famous
trillionare businessman and certified genius, and was an outspoken
advocate of his controversial (and highly fictionalized)
website. In fact, his continued support
for Jones caught the attention of his acclaimed film studio, B.D.
Jones Pictures, thus gaining him a brief cameo role in the smash
hit,
Jamie Goes To Lunch III: Return to Brian's
Lair.
Conflicts, Friendly Feuds, and other Controversies
Over the years, Mr. Ingvaldson became embroiled in several
notable friendly feuds with his students. It should be noted that
those involved in these conflicts harbour no ill-will toward Mr.
Ingvaldson, a man whom they hold in the highest regard, and
consider them to be naught but mere frolics of good humour. Some
noted opponents include:

James
Harper - The celebrated star of the
Jamie Goes To
Lunch films, James, who is referred to as "Harper," is often
the target of offensive jokes usually pertaining to his
intelligence, looks, and mother. Mr. Ingvaldson does, however,
consider the youngster to be a bright student with much
potential.

Jeffrey Cajucom -
The famed co-creator of the
B.D. Jones Official Site, Mr.Cajucom, more
commonly referred to as
Coquitlam (a reference to the
somewhat difficult
pronunciation of his surname), has endured verbal abuse in the form
of comments about his intelligence and mistaken nationality.
Contrary to popular belief, he is, in fact, of
Chinese descent, and is not Filipino.
Young Cajucom is usually able to hold his own by retorting with his
own smart comments.

Anthony
Wan - The acclaimed director/writer/editor of the
Jamie Goes To Lunch films has often considered himself
fortunate since he is usually spared the abuse directed at his
peers. He was, however, forced to endure Mr. Ingvaldson's rather
candid opinions on flatulence and toilet humour during an outdoor
education trip in late 2005. Mr. Wan has stated that he found Mr.
Ingvaldson's conduct understandable and excusable because he was,
at the time, still recovering from his failure to remain awake at
the premiere of
Revenge of the Sith earlier that year.
