Biography
Seay was a third generation
Baptist preacher.
Seay was the founding pastor of University Baptist Church in
1995 in
Waco, Texas, one of the first
examples of generational church planting.
Seay was the founder
and pastor of
Ecclesia in
Houston,
Texas. Ecclesia was founded in
September,
1999Seay lived with his wife, Lisa, in
Houston,
Texas with their four children.
Seay worked on The Voice
project with
Brian McLaren and others.
Seay died at the
age of 33, on October 30, 2005. He was electrocuted in front of his
congregation of over 800 during the Sunday morning service when he
reached out and adjusted a microphone while standing in a baptismal
font.
