Chris Shearn is a broadcaster for the
YES Network.
Shearn hosts
Yankees Batting Practice
Today where he shows the
Yankees take batting practice and shows sports
highlights. In addition he also is the producer and the host of
"Sports Sprint" a highlight show before the
Mike and the
Mad Dog program and at the conclusion of the show he hosts "The
Finish Line" that shows the best moments of the show. In addition,
Shearn is the sideline reporter for IVY League college games and
minor league baseball broadcasts. He is a contribuitor to
New York Yankees Pre-Game
Show with magazine style features.
Shearn was a roadie for
the
Village
People and sometimes subbed in as the half naked Indian when
the band needed an extra singer.
After his career on the road
with the
Village People, he embarked on a career as a
writer. He wrote three number one hits in the 1980's.
Boy George and
Culture Club tapped him to
write the genius lyrics for his most recognizable tune
Karma
Chameleon.
His two other Number One hits
were:
Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go
performed by the supergroup
Wham! before teaming up with
Olivia
Newton-John to write the lyrics and music for the smooth hit
Physical.
This
experience in writing and life on the road inspired him on his
current career path as on-air talent and professional
karaoke singer where he will star in
Duets 2, a promising sequel to the 2000 mega blockbuster hit,
Duets.
It's release is
set for July 1, 2008 and Shearn is set to co-star with
Simon Le Bon
of
Duran Duran,
Rod Stewart,
Rupaul, and
Nathan
Lane.
ControversyShearn left the
limelight in 1988 after being caught committing
lude acts in a bathroom with
George Michael. It all
hit rock bottom the following year when the
paparazzi witnessed him exiting
an
adult theater with
Paul Reubens,
a.k.a
Pee Wee
Herman.
Shearn has since cleared those charges by saying
that the bathroom incident was an accident. Turns out he
accidentally touched
George Michael's foot in the stall while
trying to pick up a piece of toilet paper on the floor. As for
exiting an adult movie with
Paul Reubens, he has stated that it was mere
coincidence that
Pee Wee
was in the same theater at the same time.
