Chris Wheeler (Born August 9, 1945 in Darby, Pennsylvania) is an announcer and color commentator for the Philadelphia Phillies in Major League Baseball. Nicknamed "Wheels", Wheeler has been broadcasting for the Phillies on TV and radio since 1977. Wheeler graduated from Penn State University in 1967 with a BA degree in journalism and broadcasting. In 1971, he entered the Phillies organization as Assistant Director of Publicity and Public Relations. He was added to the broadcast team in 1977. Wheeler previously had a long standing feud with the late Harry Kalas.[1]
