Christchurch College of Education was a college of education founded in 1873 [1] located in Christchurch, New Zealand until it was amalgamated with the University of Canterbury and formed a new Faculty of Education with the university’s School of Education.[2] It houses the Henry Field Library. [3]

  • The Christchurch College of Education has been educating New Zealanders for 127 years, and in recent years more and more international students have favoured us with their attendance.

    CCE is well known for its quality delivery of teacher training education, from Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary pre-service education through to Professional Development and Support Services for teachers. More recent is the addition of Business and Computing programmes, Sport Coaching, Performing Arts and a variety of Community Courses such as studies in Children's Literature. The delivery of courses offers variety too, as many programmes are now available by distance, in the regions or via e-learning.
