== Chreamo (Christian Emo/Screamo)==
Chreamo is a word for
Chistian Emo/Screamo. It mainly refers to a musical genre
consisting of bands such as Showbread or Falling Up. Chreamo music
consists of emotional Christian messages with the sound and styles
of typical Emo bands. It is also used to refer to Christian
Post-Hardcore bands such as Under0ath and As I Lay Dying. It can
also refer to the sub-subculture of Christian Emo Kids.
Chreamo Music
Christian emo bands came into view in the late
90's/early 2000's with bands such as The Elms. Alive before this
time, some bands like Blindside and As I Lay Dying fit the criteria
long before the concept of its style was realized and termed. Other
Chreamo bands such as Falling Up and Showbread came onto the scene
strong with major label debuts in 2004 and 2005. Some Bands are
pulling away from the Chreamo style but are still known as
"Emoish". These bands include and are not limited to Showbread and
Blindside. Other debatable Chreamo bands are: Dizmas, Kids in the
Way, Showbread, Blindside, Mae, Across the Sky, Underoath, Flyleaf,
As I Lay Dying, Falling Up, Fireflight, even Switchfoot.
Chreamo Clique
Chreamo can be used in reference to Christian
Emos. These Chreamos sometimes display band tees of Christian rock
bands and W.W.J.D. wristbands along with the stereotypical emo
attire. Although phrases such as "Chreamo Kid" and other slurrs are
not very common or quite as applicable to this sub-subculture, they
are still regerded similarily to emo and scene kids. Many Chreamo
kids find that they are shunned by "Normies" (non emos) because of
their Christian beliefs and made fun of because of it, thus, they
appear fit in with the 'lonesome emo kid' stereotype.
