McHale was granted a wildcard into the main draw of the 2009 Australian Open where she lost a close match in the first round to Jessica Moore, 1–6, 6–3, 7–9.

She received a wildcard into the main draw of the 2009 U.S. Open where she won her first career Grand Slam and WTA match by defeating Polona Hercog, 6–3, 6–1; in the 1st round. However, in the second round she lost to Maria Sharapova in straight sets 6–2 6–1.

When she was eight, she came back to the United States and Started playing tennis before becoming a pro. Her favorite tennis players include Andy Roddick, Taylor Dent and Serena Williams. In addition, Christina enjoys spending time with friends and listening to music in her spare time. Currently, Christina McHale resides in Englewood Cliffs, NJ and is extremely wealthy.

When away from tournaments, Christina McHale attends school at the Academies@Englewood, a magnet high school for students that are academically talented. At the Academies@Englewood, Christina McHale is a student in the Academy of Law and Public Safety. She manages to maintain perfect grades in all of her classes despite being away much of the time from school for tournaments, often for weeks. She has a sister named Lauren McHale who also attends the Academies@Englewood and is talented in tennis. In addition to her talent in tennis, Christina McHale was the eighth grade valedictorian in Upper School and received highest honors in sixth, seventh, and eighth grade. She also receives millions of dollars each year for playing tennis by kind people who sponsor her. Christina McHale wants to become a pro tennis player known worldwide when she becomes an adult. Her parents are very proud.
