Christopher ( Doc
Sab ) Sabatino DC, was born in the
Flatbush section of
Brooklyn, New
York, on Dec 19th 1961. He is an
Italian American.
He is the eldest son of Peter Sabatino and Margaret Francone. He
has a brother and two sisters. He grew up in Brooklyn where he
graduated from
Samuel J. Tilden High School. It was
there that his athletic prowess became evident. He was awarded the
JFK Memorial Presidential Physical Fitness award in 1979 by his
school for the
President's
Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. Later, he became
successful competitive
natural bodybuilding. His competitive
career as an amateur bodybuilder spanned from the 1970's until the
late 1990's. His most notable competition was winning the 1981
Teenage Mr America at the
Dunes in
Las Vegas,
Nevada. Along the way he graduated college and headed West to
Los Angeles to
enter Chiropractic College. Christopher graduated from one of the
premeir
Chiropractic schools in 1989. He
graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College. He has been a
practicing
Doctor of Chiropractic since 1989,
and is licensed to practice in the states of
New York and
California. His practice is
geared toward the treatment of
athletes and
celebrities. His small practice is a "Who's -
Who" of celebrities that want extremely private Doctor/Patient
care. His practice is closed to the general public and patients
must be referred from previous patients only. Since he was a child,
friends nick named him "SAB". After becoming a Chiropractic Doctor,
the nick name changed to " Doc Sab".
Doc Sab became a
Stock Broker
and Financial Advisor for
Morgan Stanley in 2000. He was trained at the
World
Trade Center, and practiced in
Burbank,
California for 2 years. After
9-11 he decided to devote more time toward his private
practice and toward his second calling.
The second calling was
where he made his name. Doc Sab began to restore classic
Cadillacs. He began
to restore and sell his Cadillacs (after learning to appreciate
cars from his grandfather Louis V. Francone as a youth) to
Television and Movie Stars as well as to celebrity athletes. Doc
Sab's Cadillacs have been used in countless music videos,
Television shows and movies. He has acted as a consult for car
props in the
television industry and the
Film
industry. To own one of Doc Sab's Cadillacs in
Hollywood,
California was the "IN" thing. The first notable celebrity was
David
Charvet of
Bay
Watch Fame. Then,
Robert Pastorelli of "
Murphy Brown" the TV
series, purchased a Classic 1960 Cadillac and went on
"
The
Tonight Show" to talk about his Doc Sab restored
Cadillac to
Jay Leno. From there, the celebrity "IN" crowd
buzzed about owning classic Cadillacs. This started a resurgence in
the Cadillac name plate in the Hollywood area which helped lead to
a resurgence of the Cadillac name plate with the younger crowd
Nationally. Many Celebrities were shown driving classic Cadillacs,
and this added a bit of "coolness" to the name plate.
Christopher
"Doc Sab" Sabatino DC, was asked to be a part of a Cadillac focus
group. It was here that many of the thoughts about converging the
old and new Cadillacs together began life.
In 1999, Doc Sab's 1959
Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible ( formerly owned by actor
Jack Palance)
was used in the "Drive The Dream" ad campaign, which included
television commercials and print ads. Doc Sab also had one of his
1959 Cadillacs sold to Oakley Sun Glasses, who presented the car as
a gift to
Dennis
Rodman, the famous Basketball star of the
Chicago Bulls and the
Los
Angeles Lakers.Doc Sab also has worked on classic Cadillacs for
mega stars, such as
Nic
Cage.
Doc Sab has created many custom Cadillacs, most
notably, the ultimate custom 1960 Cadillac called "DIABOLICAL
PURPLE". This Cadillac was the first classic Cadillac to sport 20
inch wheels, air suspension and flame throwers. It was 10 years
ahead of it's time. Doc Sab worked on his car at
George Barris Studio
Customs in Hollywood. It was the last Custom car to come out of the
Barris Studios of the 20th century. George Barris even guilded the
Cadillac with one of his Barris Kustoms Badges. Shortly after
completion, It won the Mercedes Benz Beverly Hills Car Show and
concourse event in the custom division. This event is easily one of
the most prominent West Coast Car shows. There, many celebrities
wanted to buy it that day, but Doc Sab was asked if he would place
it in "The
Petersen Automotive Museum". Doc
Sab's "DIABOLICAL PURPLE" was shown at the Petersen for 3 months.
After winning 7 straight car shows. Doc Sab sold "DIABOLICAL
PURPLE" to Extreme Sports multi World Champion, Sean Palmer.
Doc Sab has one of the largest Cadillac Websites on the planet
called http://CadillacWorld.net . There you can see fun "Webisodes"
featuring Doc Sab. On the site, you can also see hundreds of
restored cadillacs that he's done. Christopher "Doc Sab" Sabatino
DC is also the founder and President of The "SKYSCRAPERS"
International Car Club. This Classic Car Club is devoted to any
classic Cadillac or Classic make car that has a "Fin" on it's rear
aspect. You can visit the car club which has it's own on-line
magazine at http://www.cadillacworld.net/skyscrapers.html
