Chubbs DBZ RPG is an online role-playing game based around the Dragon Ball Z universe. A variety of writers from around the world contribute to the play-by-post style on forums. The owner is Jeroen den Haan, a Dutch programmer. It began in the summer of 2000 and runs to this day under its current staff. They have both forums and a domain, in which Host Rocket provides the hosting and the forums used are Burning Boards 2.1.2, provided by Woltlab[480].

People write in third-person past tense. Other than the writing, the community enjoys a set of OOC forums which often hold a variety of contests, such as the King of Asylum competition, where writers are pitted against each other to find out who is the best writer, where both third-person and first-person is used. There have also been games based around <i>Survivor</i>, <i>Apprentice</i>, <i>American Idol</i>, and <i>Big Brother</i>.

Members are often regarded both OOC and IC as the character that they roleplay as. Although a majority of the members who have been there over a year have their first name disclosed, most members will respond to their character's name.

Staff

The staff of Chubbs consists of ten members who dedicate themselves to improve the site and keeping it running efficiently, whether that be on the forums[481] or on the website[482]. There are tiers to the hierarchy, with the highest being a super administrator, the next the administrator, followed by super moderator, moderator, and finally story guide. The position of super administrator was created in early 2006 and is held by the owner, Jeroen den Haan, and the story guide position is used merely to test out members to see how well they adapt to the position of being on staff.

Super Administrator

The only person to ever have held the position of super administrator is Jeroen den Haan, who has the character of Vegeta Junior, the owner of Chubbs. The super administrator, or SA, has the power to edit any of the members but can only be edited by himself.

Administrator

The two administrators, Raditzu and Reijin, have held the postition for years. Their two names are Mario and Tim, respectively, and have both helped in numerous upheavals to the site, such as the latest update known as "KR-I," in which a whole new planet was added to the Chubbs universe. .
