Chuff Chuff is a
House music event that still takes place across
the
United
Kingdom. Arranged by Mick Ryan, Dermot Ryan and Lee Garrick all
promoters of Miss Moneypennys
Closely linked to
Miss Moneypenny's
dance event the one-off events manage to pull huge crowds, the
events often take place in exclusive
manor houses, Up until 2000 the whereabouts
of the venues were kept a secret until the very last minute. People
would sit in their cars wating for the phonecall to tell them where
Chuff Chuff was, this idea was formed out of the
Rave scene where large groups of revellers
would listen & dance to underground dance music that was
otherwise ignored by the likes of
BBC Radio 1. The name Chuff Chuff came from the
boat parties that used to take place on the River Severn. One of
the first flyers had a picture of a boat with 2 funnels, a chuff of
steam coming from each one.
The nights were renowned for their
flamboyance and hedonism with revellers encouraged to "dress up or
undress".
This event still continues today with recent ones
taking place at the Imperial Hotel
Blackpool in May 2006 and The Grand Hotel
Brighton in November
2005
