Church of The Giant Golden Microphone is a mock religion that surrounds the 1982 World's Fair Sunsphere. The mock-religion was founded by Erin Byers, in response to street-corner evangelism in Knoxville, Tennessee. Over the years the religion has become well known joke about the over zealousness of some southern preacher through out Knoxville and East Tennessee.
