City Centre Church started as a church plant in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on the University of Alberta campus at Lister Hall before moving to Telus Centre, also on campus. It is officially a member church of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada.

It was officially announced on April 9 2006 that City Centre church would be planting a second church, well before the planned 3 year deadline.

City Centre Church moved to the Paramount Theatre on Jasper Ave in Edmonton in July 2006, where they hold a 4 year lease. On September 10, 2006 they held their grand opening at this new location, also marking two years since the start up of the church. Two lanes of traffic were closed off in front of the church to accommodate an outdoor BBQ event.
