Clan Zaku
The History of Clan Zaku
In the beginning, Zack created the Council and the Code, and saw that it was good.
Zaku 1:1
In all seriousness.
The Clan's humble origins date back to the release of PSO EPIII.
In those days pso was a bright, vibrant community, but still filled with many people who were total losers.
The world of pso was separated, with the hackers and unlegits(cheaters) situated in the server (ship) Vega. the legits (those who don't cheat) situtated in Deneb.
At this time duping (duplicating items) was still a common skill, and were a huge cause of this rift.
The hackers arrogance towards normal players combined with the rising talent of FSOD (frozen screen of death...XD), and the unlegits intolerance of dupers and hackers, were the sole cause of this division among the pso universe.
Antares was the "melting pot" of the pso world, where as players of all types went to play, but was despised by the hackers and the bigot legits who did not go there.
But the 4th ship, the ship Altair, is where the little tale of Zaku takes place.
It began in Vega, Zack himself being a duper.
Observing this rift in the pso world, and quite possibly desiring the illusion of power so many did on pso, he decided to start a clan in which all peoples could join, centering on the card game of EPIII.
After some successful recruiting, and wagering his clan in a card match, Zack managed to get roughly 25 members from epIII, among them Lightning, whom was promised a spot in the council upon being one of the first members to join.
Also many of the first knights, Winder, Kirbert, Clift, and Hotshot.
None of which was loyal to his cause.
During this time, Rachel was the only member that was recruited from EP I and II.
Soon after Rachel was recruited(late March, 2004), Zack grew bored with this card game, and began expanding the clan to focus on Ep I and II, the real time RPG.
Only the knight Clift, and later Zakon, followed Zack to the new game.
During this time Zack established the Council as Matthew, Schellenger, and Lightning, with Duke serving as the Archsage.
During this time the ranks were just being established, and throughout this early period of Zakus history only the ranks of Recruit, Page, Knight, Elite, Sage, Archsage, Council, and Master existed.
There was no seperate branch, and there were no individual titles among the council, although Matthew liked to refer to himself as Zaku's Jedi.
The real boom happened during April, during the Easter Holidays.
The Clan centered its headquarters in the basically vacant ship of Altair, in Block 8, more specifically Lobby 13.
Clift became the first knight to actually be knighted in a ceremony, and future knights, Sesshoumaru (Eden to most), Christopher (the creator of my awesome double cannon), and Balmung (the chief recruiter) all joined Zaku.
During easter week, during a single day clan membership jumped from roughly 30 to 50, with Zack, staying in the lobby keeping track of new members, Balmung taking them through the recruiting test, and Matthew switching back and forth between roles.
At first we were going out to other lobbies and ships to find members, but the clan gained so much fame during that one night they began coming to us.
By the time Easter break ended, Zaku was made up of about 60 members, among them the final knights to join, Kite, Sero, and Alexia.
Later in May, the first knighting ceremony open to clan attendance occurred, with Sesshoumaru and Christopher becoming knighted.
In late may however, Zacks guild card file became corrupt, and thus lost contact with many of the members.
After recovering the majority of guild cards, including every knights, Zaku was ready again.
During the summer the clan really began to grow, with another knighting ceremony in June, Alexia(for actually staying around and helping), Sero(for loyalty), and Balmung(for the work he put into testing new recruits.) Sadly though, many other clans sought to end Clan Zaku, among them the BA and G.H.O.S.T. clans.
Chiefly among these was the Shadow Hawks, who proved to be a thorn in Zakus side throughout the summer.
Eventually all these conflicts were resolved, in one way or another, with Ty Hawk(leader of Shadow Hawks) and Zack eventually becoming friends.
An interesting note is that Zaku even hosted a Go Go Ball tournament in early July.
In late July many people began fading from PSO and it became evident it would slow down once school started back.
This site was established during this time to attempt to save Zaku, but to no avail.
By the time the Second Great Decline of PSO came around, Zaku had roughly 100 members.
The last knighting ceremony was also held in august, just before the decline, to give honor where honor was long due, to Rachel (whom was either directly or indirectly responsible for at least 20 members joining) and Kite who had remained loyal to Zaku throughout its entirety, helping to recruit many members himself.
Many members left, including the knights, for one reason or another, until finally only a handful of members were left.
In late September, in the last official meeting held, Zack announced his resignment from Clan Zaku, much to the surprise of the remaining members, and none of the remaining members continued recruiting or carrying on Clan Zaku.
For a year and a half Zaku lied dormant, with no real need for existence, then the summer of 06 rolled around.
With the announcement of the Wii, Zack decided to start up Zaku once again, adding many new ranks thanks to the inefficiency of the original ones.
The only two knights whom remained loyal to Zaku were given much more important roles within the clan, Rachel as Queen, and kite being accepted as Archsage upon Dukes promotion to the Council.
Lightning was removed from the Council and at this time his actual rank is not determined.
Other additions include Miere(known on this site as Banana) as the ArchBishop, as well as definite jobs among the council.
Right now, technically Zaku has not been rebirthed, and doesn't kick into full swing until Wii's release, and more specifically Super Smash Bros.
Brawl, but we are still training and teaching our current members as well as accepting a few new members here and there.
Zaku has the mission to teach people how to play smash, as well as give them a community to do so, and plans on expanding into other games as soon as there is a strong base there.
In the meantime, Zack has not forgotten Zaku's original purpose, his original vision.
To create a community where all peoples are accepted, and just to have fun.
The Knights and Their Fates
The original Zaku Regime had 12 Knights.
(Knights of the Round Table) XD Anyways, I know someone is bound to be curious as to what happened to them, or perhaps how they became knights.
They are listed in order of recruitment, as the actual order of knighthood has been lost.
Winder-the first knight and elite, was made so after defeating me in an Ep 3 Match.
Retired.
Kirbert-Had skill on ep3, was therefore knighted.
Retired.
Clift-Was good at ep3 and helpful on ep1n2.
The First knight to participate in a knighting ceremony.
Retired
Hotshot-Decent at Ep3 and very willing to help out with clan.
Probably would have rose higher but suddenly disappeared.
Retired.
Zakon-First knight to follow from ep3 to ep1n2.
Friendly and loyal.
Retired.
Eden-First ep1n2 knight.
Was officially knighted as were all others after him.
Became an Elite.
Turned out to be traitorous.
Banished.
Christopher-the first knight with hacking abilities, eventually creating my signature double cannon.
Became an Elite.
Retired.
Alexia-First female knight.
Was helpful in running clan, first and as of now only person to achieve rank of Sage. the only one to officially Retire.
Balmung-The most helpful knight in actually giving the recruitment test.
Retired.
Sero-Perhaps the most loyal knight ever to Zaku.
Seems to be Retired.
Rachel-long time member who helped recruit...um...Queen.
Kite-Loyal and currently the only knight with hacking capabilites.
Has risen to Archsage after being accepted as Zack's apprentice.
The first Sunday of August marked the reopening of the knighthood, with Zakus 13th knight, and first knight of the new regime.
Miere-Banana on the site. um, trustworthy, has become the Madame thanks to it.
And updates will come as more knights follow.
