Clarion #2, November 1999

Clarion is an undergraduate literary magazine published at Boston University since 1998, unique for continuing to publish despite a policy prohibiting any "student journal of opinion" from receiving university funding.

The original issue, titled The Staff Issue of ?, was published by the group "Student for Literary Awareness" in association with Bostonia, a University magazine. Subsequent issues, although produced by the same group of students, were released under the name Clarion. From issue No. 2 on, the student group began using the name Boston University Literary Society.

In the fall of 2009, the editors began accepting submissions from all writers, regardless of their affiliation with Boston University.
