The Clay Arts Guild (CAG) is an
association of ceramic artists that is located in central
Contra Costa County,
California. CAG members assist in the support public facilities
owned and operated by the City of Walnut CreekCivic
Arts Education. CAG membership enables the monotored use of
the facilities during specific non-class hours. All members must be
enrolled in at least one formal class during each of the regular
quarters. Membership extends for a full year starting in the fall
quarter or may be obtained at reduced cost for the summer quarter
only.
Although many of the artists utilizing these facilities
operate at a professional level of skill, and some support their
own facilities, all work produced in the city facilities may only
be sold at CAG functions. There are two types of
sales:<br>
Donated goods sale ("Warehouse Sale" ).
All ceramics are donated by CAG members and all funds received
support CAG activities.
Commission sale ("Artist's Sale"
) CAG receives a portion of the sale price.
Funds received by
CAG are used to purchase equipment for use by both CAG members and
for members of the public through the Civic Arts Program. CAG funds
are also used to to support merit scholarships for ceramic artists
attending Civic Arts ceramic classes. <!-- needs
