From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Clayton James Cubitt, a.k.a. SIEGE, is an art photographer.[1] He was quoted in a newspaper article about mohawks,[2] and his podcast porn has been favourably received on sfgate.com.[3] His inclusion of photographs of pornographic model Justine Joli in a published collection led Barneys to refuse to sell it.[4] His work has been featured in JPG,[4] Boing Boing,[5] and Nerve.com.[6] He has been interviewed in JPG as well as the New York Press.

As a photographer, he has crossed the proverbial line, including himself - as voyeur and participant - in an on-camera life that utterly obliterates the distinction between object and subject, rendering objectivity an archaic term. With his rock star dalliances and a desire to marry high-art style and low-brow subjects, Cubitt sits at the photographic edge."

Clayton James Cubitt is a contemporary New York fashion and art photographer, known for an emotional and dark style, often combined with eroticism and a highly crafted technique. A winner of the prestigious *surface magazine Avant Guardian prize, his international editorial and advertising work has been highly influential, and he's known for bringing together eclectic collaborations, such as combining his fashion work with generative art or photomicroscopy. Besides numerous solo shows, he exhibited as part of the ground-breaking Sent, the first exhibition of phonecam art in the United States.

He's perhaps equally well-known for his hyper-stylized and emotionally bare erotic art, published widely under the pseudonym "Siege".
