Climber is a four piece music group from Portland, OR.
Created in 2001, when the group of friends decided to hole up their basement studio for two and a half years working on a new direction.
Originally leaning on experimentations with
ProTools and electric keyboards to influence their sound, over the last several years the band has begun incorporating more traditional elements, such as piano, live drums, and cello.

Willamette Week“What did we all do before the boys in Climber emerged from their basement and washed this fine city in warm organ tones and sweet, hushed vocals?
I don't remember, but I imagine it was much more depressing and cold.” -
Full reviewPortland Tribune“There are electronic elements, but the primary goal is more about mood than big beats and dancing.
The tunes are alluring, fragile and never head-scratchingly obtuse…” -
Full reviewPortland Mercury"Combining the ambient explorations of Brian Eno and the more melodic elements of post-OK Computer Radiohead, hometown electro-heroes, Climber, make Music for Upscale Boutiques."
-
Full review3Hive"Officially, these tracks are demos.
Sonically, they’re a blissful walk down a bittersweet path."
