The Universal Vibe Trademark

Cloud 7 is an electric clothing company created by underground filmmaker and Egyptian beat junkie, The Blue Panther and international illustration wizard, Satoshi Matsuzawa of Tokyo, Japan.

The two designers merged forces to create an ongoing collection of moods and attitudes designed for the street-smart, forward-thinker stuck in rewind. Infusing the richness of cultures, colorful eras, music, and just plain beatdown hipness, Cloud 7 is a brand new seed for the super stellar breed.

With a signature style of bright electric colors, chocolate tones and the blaxploitation beat echoing from Tokyo to Los Angeles, the partners strive to deliver only to the slickest of the slick. Many of their pieces are optimistic and confident, reflecting the way any laid-back cool cat faces the world. Comfortable t-shirts, sweats and hoodies all deliver a street-smart flair, while the knit tank tops and A-line skirts offer a slick twist on all that is fit for a funky fresh feline. And with a slogan like “Be Music,” you’ll be hard-pressed to find an item you can’t relate to.

History

This unique Japanese-Egyptian urban clothing company was originally established in 1999 in Detroit, Michigan as
Cloud 7 Chocolate Parlor before The Blue Panther, aka Suzie Kassem, moved the company's headquarters to Los Angeles in 2001. One year earlier, several Cloud 7 t-shirts were seen on several label managers and major DJs at the Winter Music Conference in Miami and immediately the label sparked a buzz. After embracing the pages of several European and Japanese magazines, demand rapidly surpassed supply and the heat caught the owners unprepared. Magazines such as France's street culture publication, "WAD" started sending back issues to readers who could not get their hands on the gear but wanted to save the prints.

Before embarking on the C7 venture, both Blue Panther and Satoshi joined heads in the early 90s in the creation of '
CatCellular, an underground portal for international DJs, record labels, and vibe rollers to come together and CREATE. After a solid four-year run, CatCellular evolved into one of the largest global street teams of their time. Additional information about CatCellular can be found in Roger Walton's book titled, Musicdot.com, 2001.

In 1996, Blue Panther's in-depth knowledge of street culture and ability to forecast trends impressed the heads of Adidas in Europe that they turned her into a hot marketing consultant for tailoring campaigns and designs for their European markets.
She also sidelined as a marketing manager for Pipeworks Media, a lifestyle marketing boutique and think tank catering to apparel companies and the music industry. She has since then launched promotions for RJ Reynolds, Hewlett-Packard, Kappa, Puma, Todd Oldham, and Gucci.

In 2005,
Jeremy Martin joined C7 as a new development partner and following the gang's launch of their spring collection online, ninety percent of their entire inventory was wiped out in the first two weeks of going public. Many thanks to the following Blue and Satoshi had amassed from their work almost a decade prior. Cloud 7 can be found in back alley hipster boutiques around the world.
