Colette Baron-Reid[1170] (born 17 July 1958) Internationally acclaimed public speaker, Spiritual Intuitive and bestselling author with Hay House Inc. Known for her infectious upbeat personality and uncanny accuracy. Also known as a recording artist with EMI Music Canada.

Biography

Early Years

Born Colette Vera Bogdanovic Baron in Toronto, Canada, to European immigrants. She is the second of two daughters; her father was Serbian and mother German. Colette was brought up in an affluent home with a private school education, enrolled in the Carlton University in Ottawa, Canada, for a couple of years to study law. Dropped out to pursue a music career. A lot of Colette's personal history is well documented in her writings and her books; the development of her intuitive gift as a child and hiding it in fear of being ostracized, leading to battling drug and alcohol abuse from the time she was fourteen until she cleaned up at age twenty-eight, the victim of a brutal gang rape at age nineteen, the re-awakening of her intuitive gift as a result, and the subsequent years of recovery that followed, starting with rehab in The Jean Tweed Treatment Center for women on January 2, 1986.

Recovery Years

Also known as the Miracle years, Colette took to a spiritual path, learning aromatherapy message as a means to support her music career. People would book appointments to get a massage, but when Colette massaged them, she would get clairvoyant images. Soon people were booking appointments just to get readings. Although music was her main focus, her intuitive gift proved to be the career she didn’t want. And in 1988, Colette began calling herself a professional Intuitive.

Pinnacle Years

The Pinnacle Years was the time Colette developed her uncanny accuracy as an Intuitive, learning to discern between the clairvoyant images and accurately perceive the past, present and possible future of a client. During this time, over the span of 8 years she studied Jungian psychology, transpersonal psychology, theology, metaphysics and the ancient wisdom teachings of the Tarot, Runes and other divination practises and began to incorporate them in her readings.

Over the next thirteen years, and without a business card or solicitation, Colette’s client base grew through word of mouth to over 30,000 people in over 25 countries. Building a strong client base in New York, Los Angeles, Santa Fe, and London, the scope of people ranged from wealthy businessmen, bankers doctors and celebrities, to the working class. Many readings were now being done via phone. Also known for her generosity, Colette never took money from anyone who needed Intuitive guidance but couldn’t afford her fee.

While her popularity as an Intuitive continued to grow, she still longed for her main passion - to land a record deal and become a full time singer-songwriter

Duality Years

First came the gifts, then came the opportunities, then came choice. In 1999, Colette and long time friend Deenah Mollin started The Cosmic Cookie Company : for hungry minds and spirits. A CD was already in the works with Colette and platinum selling New age music artist Mars Lasar. Their first project was to finish recording the spoken word guided meditation called Journey Through The Chakras. It became the fastest selling meditation CD in Canada and gained the attention of EMI Music Canada who in turn licensed the CD.

EMI flew Colette to Los Angeles to record a follow up meditation CD with producer Eric Rosse. The project got side tracked when Rosse heard Colette vocally toying with melodies on top of the music. It took very little effort for Rosse to convince Colette to record three fully produced pop songs. Her years of longing to be a singer songwriter seemed to be in her grasp.

Colette returned to EMI Music Canada, blew away the president, and was sent back to Los Angeles to complete the album. At age 42, Colette signed a major label recording contract for two albums. The first release was Magdalene’s Garden. Although the CD was critically acclaimed, sales were moderate and Colette got lost in the birth of the young pop star craze.

Humbled by the experience, Colette returned to doing readings as a means to make ends meet. Her reputation as an Intuitive grew beyond measure, and soon they were booking months in advance to get a reading. With an obligation to do one more CD for EMI, Colette sought out producers to demo with. She chose Toronto based producers Rob DeBoer and Tony Grace, known as The Boomtang Boys who had had several dance hits in Canada. In 2004, she began work on her second album; I Am / Grace.

In the middle of recording the CD, Colette made one of her regular business trips to London to see clients face to face. She was introduced to Tessa Graham Fresh Partners, a London based management company (The Naked Chef : Jamie Oliver). They signed her and immediately pushed her to do a book proposal on Intuition, seeing this as a much better career direction for Colette. Fresh partners took the book proposal to Hay House UK, who quickly forwarded it to their head office in the United States, and Colette was signed to a two book, multi event deal

The Here And Now Years

In 2005, with a full plate on her hands; a one year waiting list for clients, a just released second CD I Am /Grace, and a soon to be released book, it was time for Colette to sit back and take stock. Colette had a falling out with Fresh Partners and the two went their separate ways. The CD was released to once again critical acclaim, but a poor showing at radio translated to poor sales. Disappointed and resolved to the fact that a professional music career would never materialize, Colette focused strictly on her career as an Intuitive.

The book; Remembering The Future : The Path to Recovering Intuition was released in 2006 and quickly jumped to one of the top books on Intuition on Amazon. In 2007 it went into its third printing and Hay House added Colette as the opening act for Sylvia Browne on her 2007 Spiritual Connections Tour across thirty-six cities in the U.S. She was given a weekly one-hour call in radio show on Hay House Radio.[1171] The Wisdom Of Avalon Oracle Cards have garnered critical acclaim as being one of the best divination cards systems devised in modern times, easy to use, and very accurate. Messages From Spirit ; The Extraordinary Power of Oracles, Omens and Signs is due to be released in 2008. Colette’s star has been rising ever since.

Year Of The Medium

In 2007, during the Spiritual Connections Tour with Sylvia Browne, Colette's ability as a Medium started to kick in and quickly went into overdrive. Messages from those who have passed over became a common occurance. Coupled with her strong gift as a Clairvoyant, she has become one of the most accurate intuitive counselors in the world today.

Today

She continues on the lecture circuit helping those who are, or want to come into their own as Intuitives, has been re-signed to Hay House Inc. for more books, still does private Intuitive readings for those willing to wait. She is married with two fur babies and lives in Toronto during the summers and other warm exotic locals during the winters.
