This article is a list of universities and colleges in Beijing. There are at least 70 establishments of higher education in the Chinese capital. Most of the colleges and universities are public or affiliated; only a few are privately established.

Note: Institutions without full-time bachelor programs are not listed. And all lists are by English alphabet.



The following notation is used:

  • National: administered directly by the Chinese Ministry of Education (MOE)
  • National (other): administered by a Ministry other than the MOE
  • Provincial: Public university administered by the province
  • Municipal: Public university administered by the municipality
  • Private: Privately owned and funded university
