It was credited to Brian Molko, Stefan Olsdal and Robert Schultzberg. The lyrics were written by Molko. It was produced by Brad Wood who produced the album.
The single contains "Drowning by Numbers" one of the band's most popular b-sides and the first song produced solely by the band.It was occasionally played live until around 2001.
The single and album versions are identical, the only difference being the tempo. It is written in the Placebo tuning F-A#-D#-G#-C-C. The song opens on the share drum, followed by a two interval guitar riff. The first interval is F#-C and the second (the one under the vocal line)is C#-F. The chorus is sung over a solo riff. The bridge and the ending are played "behind the bridge".
The song was part of the band's repertoire prior to the release of their album and it was a regular until the Black Market Music tour. It's occasionally on the set list since 2006.Together with Bruise Pristine it was Schultzberg's favorite song to perform live.
