Voyager™
Commendo’s Voyager™ is an iTunes-like service which lets a user record file and non-file based web content to their PC to create and manage personal web content collections.
The content delivery side of the service is a video
website which lets anyone view collections of related
video clips from
YouTube.
The software application side of the service lets a user record videos from the site, as well as just about any http delivered web content for time and place shifted viewing.
The Voyager collections provide a new way for people to easily locate topic related videos.
The key technology behind the software is the patent-pending WebTPx™ micro-server, which records static web and software enabled content including Flash, Shockwave and Ajax.
About the Company
Commendo was founded by Reynaldo Gil and Ken Crittendon in
2002, to address the problem that users had to be online to view and interact with web content spread across multiple websites.
They wanted to allow the user to record content to their PC without having either the content provider or the user modify the content.
This capability makes the content mobile, and allows the user wanted to interact with it offline.
In essence, users can create and manage a local version of repeatedly viewed web content.
