A set of Laguiole steak knives

Steak knife is the term for small knives used at the table for eating. It is about the size of a butter knife but is sharpened and usually serrated for more effectiveness when cutting through tough, meaty samples. It is important that any knives are kept sharp, as blunt knives require more force to use, actually increasing the likelihood of injury (cuts from a sharp knife heal more quickly than those from a blunt one). A knife sharpener can be used to keep knives sharp.
