Cool Cans were special cans used by Pepsi in a 1990 promotion.

The various designs of these cans included confetti, sunglasses, neon, and surfing art. They had prizes printed on the inside of them as part of a contest.

The neon Cool Can was claimed to have the word "SEX" hidden on it. This subliminal message is undetermined as of this moment. [711]

The Secret or trick to the Neon Cool Can is to place one Neon can on top of another. Twisting one of the cans around will eventually make what looks to be the word "SEX" appear vertically across two cans. It is not visible with just one can. It has long been contested that this effect was not erroneous but in fact deliberately staged. Pepsi has always maintained the occurrence to be of an accidental nature.
