Cool Tools is a weblog about "anything that can be useful".[1] It was originally called Recommendo[2].

In April 2009, Bruce Sterling became one of the site's editors[3], but stepped down shortly thereafter.

On or about November 6, 2009 the site was hacked with an unspecified injection attack and was listed by as suspicious and as a potential hack site by a google advisory. [4] The issue has since been repaired and the hacked content removed.
