D.Travis North (Coplan) is an electronic music composer, editor of the Static Linedemoscenetracker zine and maintainer of SceneSpot, an online source for trackers in the computer art music scene.
He is best known for starting and editing the E-zine Static Line.
Issue #1 of Static Line was distributed in July 1998 and was started as an effort to fill the vacuum left behind when the well known and well regarded TraxWeekly E-Zine shut shop in Feb of 1998.
It survived for 52 issues and eventually closed in March of 2004.
North is also well known for maintaining the SceneSpot online demo scene news and forum site.
Part of SceneSpot is the well regarded tunetracker feature which helps demo scene musicians keep tabs on new music releases and find release points from which to download.
