Copper is a reddish brown color that resembles the metal copper.

• The Copper Butterfly is the common name for the butterfly family Lycaenidae.
• The Copper Underwing, (Amphipyra pyramidea) is a moth of the family Noctuidae. It is distributed across the Palaearctic region.

Snakes

• The Copperhead may refer to any of three different species of snakes:
  • Agkistrodon contortrix, a venomous pit viper species found in parts of North America.
  • Austrelaps, a genus of venomous elapids found in southern Australia and Tasmania.
  • Elaphe radiata, known as the Copperhead Rat Snake, a non-venomous species found in southern Asia.

Architecture

• The reconstructed De Young Museum in San Francisco, California, which opened in October 2005, is clad in 1,000,000 pounds of copper. ^[1]
• The gigantic statue "Liberty Enlightening the World" (Statue of Liberty National Monument) in New York Harbor is entirely clad in copper, about the thickness of one US penny.

• Copper is a comic strip by Kazu Kibuishi that has enjoyed both webcomic and print appearances.
• Copperhead (Marvel Comics) is a Marvel comics supervillain and member of the Serpent Society.

• Copper kitchenware is popular, mostly because it is convenient because it heats up faster, but some like to collect it just because they like the color.

• Copperheads were Northern Peace Democrats who opposed the American Civil War, wanting an immediate peace settlement.
