Our PastIn September of 2001, God began
leading Pastor Joel and his wife Amy to leave their present
ministry in Youth at the Park Street Baptist Church in St.
Petersburg, FL and to establish a new ministry here in Four
Corners. With the help from a team of individuals, Cornerstone
began services in March of 2002. The Church was begun as a ministry
of Park Street Baptist Church, also receiving help from the FL
Baptist Bible Fellowship, and many other churches in the state.
Since our very first service with 16 in attendance, Cornerstone has
seen high days to 256 on Easter of last year. The church organized
into an independent ministry in September of 2002 and was totally
self supporting by August 2003.
Our
PresentCornerstone continues to grow now with an average
attendance in the mid to upper 150’s. Our philosophy of ministry is
described in a phrase you will find throughout the church and goes
as follows “Together We Come, Together We see, Together We go,
Together We Give, Together Believe, and Together We Grow!” As we
come together as a church to see God in worship, we are encouraged
to go forth and tell others giving the good news of Christ to them
through ministry. As a result of our faith and obedience, we will
grow. Our commitment is to provide quality ministries both within
and outside of the church. Through God’s blessing the church has
been able to support ten missionary families who are also in the
process of starting churches both in FL and around the world. It is
our goal to develop ordinary people into extraordinary Christians.
In June of 2006, we were able to add Gabe Dunlap to our staff
as our Worship Pastor. Gabe had the opportunity to lead worship for
the student body while attending Liberty University. Afterwards he
toured as a Christian Recording Artist with Brother’s Keeper. He
met his wife Amy while attending Liberty University; they have been
married nine years and have a four year old son named Ethan.
Our FutureAs Cornerstone continues to grow,
it will become necessary for the church to add additional staff as
well as establish permanent facilities to enable sustained growth.
God has provided a wonderful place for us to meet and worship and
although the time and place of our own facilities are uncertain,
the church has already saved over $100,000 for the acquisition of
property.

Welcome Center
Before and after every service the Welcome Center provides a
place to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee, juice, or tea with a
danish or cookie.
Worship Service (9:30 and
10:45) The Worship Service is designed to be both
uplifting and challenging for everyone in attendance. We strive to
present an upbeat blend of your favorite hymns along with some of
today’s favorite worship songs. Messages are taken directly from
the Bible and delivered in the most practical and up to date way.
We want to help you not only stay connected, but to allow God’s
Word to change your life for the better.
Junior Church – (for
children 1st grade-5th grade) (10:45)
Junior Church is a worship
service geared to your child’s specific age. Our goal is to develop
a desire in each child to connect with God through music, the
Bible, and interactive crafts, so that they will ultimately fall in
love with Jesus. We understand that a relationship with Christ will
do much more for your child than mere knowledge about Him.
Preschool Junior Church-(for children 3-5 years old) (10:45)
Nursery – (Babies) (9:30 and 10:45)
Our Nursery is
designed to provide comfort for both you and your child. The ladies
who volunteer in our nursery have undergone careful screening
including a national background check. Parents of every child are
given a pager so that they can be reached if needed.
Mid-week Service (7:00p.m.) Wednesday nights
Wednesdays are very important to Cornerstone. It is a time
where many of our people gather together for prayer, practice and
preparation. There is Kid-Mo for children, Youth Group for
students, prayer meeting, training events, praise team practices,
and Bible Studies. We want everyone to find a place where they can
get involved on Wednesday nights.
