Cortex Intelligence is a company with a strong technology base, fruit of over 5 years of academic research in the text mining area in one of the main technology universities of Brazil - the Pontifícia Universidade Católica of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-RIO).

Through technological partnerships with several laboratories of PUC-Rio and the support of instituitions that foster innovation, like FINEP, the company began formal operations in January of 2003.

The company formed a team that combines market professionals and university researchers who, in the course of nearly 2 years, developed its first product: The Cortex Competitiva® platform. The product, considered the first integrated national system to support the Competitive Intelligence process, was launched in september 2004 and, soon after, obtained first place in ABRAIC's Prêmio de Inovação em Inteligência Competitiva (Innovation Award in Competitive Intelligence). The technology takes first place in HAREM, internacional Entity Recognition competition for portuguese language, hosted by Linguateca. Now working also on English and Spanish languages.

In the following years the company attained clients that are benchmarks in their respective sectors and expanded its operations. Complementary technologies were aggregated to its product portfolio and the practice of consulting developed with the formation of a team of professionals specialized in market intelligence, originated from large consulting firms.

Currently, Cortex Intelligence can be considered a reference in the area, applying, in integrated fashion, unlike any other company, consulting services and sophisticated technologies for the area of intelligence.
