Cosmoe is an open sourceoperating system project with the goal
of creating an operating system similar in appearance and general
feel to BeOS, a discontinued
operating system formerly produced by the now-defunct Be Incorporated. It
is based on the Linux kernel
and uses significant code from AtheOS. It aims for source-code compatibility with
BeOS (and perhaps with the Mac OS Carbon toolkit).
Started just
before the demise of AtheOS, the project quickly took off, generating
successive releases before going dormant after its latest release
on December 24, 2004.
