Cotton On is a highly popular youth fashion label based and operated in Australia. Established in 1991, the retail giant now has over 200 stores in Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore, and employs over 3000 employees.

Cotton On clothing is generally cheaper than most other retail counterparts; many of its designs mass produced in China with basic materials and consequently most Cotton On T-shirts are between AU$10 - $40 in price. Sales promotions are common, with sales each year in the transitions between Winter and Summer stock (and vice versa).

From a business perspective, the brand continues to strengthen and the company generates millions of dollars in revenue each year.

Youth Culture

Since its establishment in 1991 Cotton On has become a somewhat successful brand with Australian youth; the label is not revered in any sense, however the chain does have a reputation for cheap, urban styled clothing. In many ways, its success with young buyers is similar to that of H&M in Europe and America.

Clothing

Cotton On markets and retails both male and female clothing at its mainline stores and Children's clothing at its wholly owned subsidy Cotton On Kids. Mainly Urban and Street wear are sold at the mainline stores. Cotton On Kids caters for newborns to seven-year olds while Cotton On Body sells underwear, pyjamas and dressing gowns.

Australia/New Zealand

Originally the brand opened smaller boutique style shops in only a select number of locations, today however the company operates over 200 stores and is well established in all states and territories of Australia and many major centres in New Zealand. The aggressive expansion of stores has allowed the brand to become one of the most worn affordable clothing lines in Australia . This trend has continued to grow on both sides of the Tasman.

Asia

In August 2007 Cotton On opened its first store in Asia located in Singapore, planns are now well under way for stores across Asia and it has now been confirmed that up to 300 stores will open in Mainland China and Hong Kong over the next two years with all of the proposed stores in operation by the last quarter of 2009.

Middle East

It is proposed but not yet confirmed that several stores may be opening in Dubai by the third quarter of 2008.

Charity

Cotton On donates the proceeds from the sale of its environmentally friendly "Enviro" bags to the Australian Cancer Research Foundation, committing AU$100,000 to the ACRF in 2006.<ref>{{cite web |url=http://www.acrf.com.au/plugins/newsfeed.cgi?rm=content&plugin_data_id=7107 |title=
