Covalent Bond is a semi-indie rock/pop band formed
in Halifax, NS, comprised of band members Malcolm Rodgers, Peter
Mullock and Jim Wallace. Covalent Bond is currently working on
their first album, while jamming a range of cover songs for
practice. Jamming in the basement of a home in Fairview, Halifax,
they always find time to have fun with their music and to entertain
the coming and going people of the house.
About The Band
Members
Malcolm ("Mowie"): Malcolm has a huge liking for
goats, one of his dreams being to own a few of them once
he
settles down. He engages in various sports, some of his
favourites including tennis, biking, running
and snowboarding. In
October of 2005, Malcolm completed a half-marathon around Lake
Ainsley, Cape Breton.
Malcolm likes to keep in touch with his
cultural Cape Breton side, playing the fiddle whenever he gets
a
chance. Besides his love for goats, Malcolm also likes to enjoy a
cold glass of chocolate milk. Malcolm completed his Master in
Computer Science at Dalhousie University in the Summer of 2005. He
is currently working as a Computer Science contractor, while
mainting his own business,
Malcolm
Rodgers Consulting Inc.
Peter ("Pita"): It is often
speculated whether or not the rumour of Peter's toaster fixing
ability is actually
true or not. Some might never know the truth.
Peter is always willing to try something new, having gone skydiving
before. He has quite a sense of humour and he tries to take things
as light-hearted as possible. One of peter's most well known
"possessions" is his five year old buddy Edward - a sweet and
loving (some may call him 'big-boned') cat. Peter taught
himself
how to play the guitar at an early age and has been
playing it ever since. He also enjoys singing, attempting
a wide
range of songs. Peter is also an enthused runner, and will be
competing in the upcoming
Halifax Blue Nose
Half-Marathon this May. Peter is working as an Account Manager
for ALC Micro, working on inside sales.
Jim ("Jimbo"): Newest
member to the band, Jim thoroughly enjoys his new position as
Covalent Bond's bass player.
Jim is very enthusiastic about their
music, while having a wide ranged taste in music otherwise, ranging
from
Country to Indie Rock. Jim is an enthused Basketball,
Volleyball and Baseball player, and has an all-round relaxed
personality. Jim is currently attending Dalhousie University, where
he has just recently completed
his Masters in Computer
Science.

Music
Covalent Bond is
currently working on their Fairview EP (including songs such as
Campaign, Fairview
Blowtorch Man, and Fairview At Night), while
putting together other various songs in the process.
Peter and
Malcolm enjoy working together, and are able to come up with songs
that are quite unique to
the band's characters. Some of their
current top songs include
That First
Time,
December, and What's in
a Sky. From time to time they also like to cover songs such as
Radiohead's Karma Police or Green Day’s Boulevard of Broken Dreams,
to maintain practice experience.
Jamming in the basement of a
family home in Fairview, Halifax, they always find time to have fun
with
their music and to entertain the coming and going people of
the house. Occasionally, Covalent Bond likes
to jam with friends
and family members, including extra guitarists and piano players in
their jam
sessions, using their talents for extra sound.
