Cove Creek Park is a
baseball facility in
Albemarle County,
Virginia. for children
ages 5 or 6 to about 15, built by
John Grisham.
Awards including MVP, Coaches
Award, and Sportsmanship Award are given to players in each league
after every season. Cove Creek currently has 7 divisions. In the
T-Ball league there are 6 teams the Padres, Diamondbacks, Cubs,
Phillies, Rangers, and the Cardinals. In the Rookie league there
are 7 teams, the Astros, Marlins, Royals, Reds , Devil Rays, Blue
Jays, and the Indians. In Rookie League Softball there are 3 teams
the Cheetahs, Jaguars, and the Saints. In the Minor League there
are 7 teams, the Pirates, Athletics, Red Sox, White Sox, Dodgers,
Braves, and the Mets.
In the Minor League Softball there are 3
teams the Sabers, Racers, and the Fireballs. In Major League there
are 6 teams, the Devil Rays, Orioles, Angels, Nationals, Yankees,
and the Giants. In Major League Softball there are 4 teams, the
Angels, Heat, Wildcats, and the Pink Panthers. In the 13-Year Old
Division there is only 1 team, the Brewers. *(note-the Brewers play
teams from other baseball facilities) In the 14-15 Division there 5
teams the Mariners, Orioles, Phillies, Red Sox, and the Athletics.
Please note the team names may change. In the 14-15 division the
Mariners were victorious and there star pitcher Luke Longanecker
won MVP. Jake Pelton received the Coaches Award. Thorne Michaels
AKA T-Mike was a hoss and threw 102 mph and also hit 178 hrs in 6
games.
