==Introduction==

Covingham and Nythe Ward is an Electoral Ward in Swindon, Wiltshire, England, within the area of Swindon Borough Council.

It has approximately 4,500 homes and 7,500 electors registered.

The ward covers Covingham, Nythe and the southern tip of Coleview. The boundary of the ward is mainly contained within Covingham and Nythe. The only complexity is among the houses that fall within Coleview.

Parishes

It is covered by Covingham Parish Council (Covingham) and Stratton St Margaret Parish Council (Nythe and Coleview). The latter parish is one of the largest parishes in the country and covers a large area of the North East of Swindon.

Elected Swindon Borough Council Representation

There are three local Swindon Borough Councillors' seats for this ward. Currently, there are three Conservative Councillors (Cllr. Dale Heenan, Cllr. Glenn Smith and Cllr. Phil Young).

Parliamentary Constituency

The Ward is primarily within the North Swindon Parliamentary Constituency, however the Bullfinch Close and Pheasant Close (and accompanying off-shoots) are within the South Swindon Parliamentary Constituency. As part of the boundary changes this is going to change to North Swindon along with the rest of the ward. It makes sense that both the local Borough ward boundary and Parliamentary Constituency echo the same boarders. Information on this can be obtained from the Boundary Commission for England web site highlighting the changes for Swindon.

Schools

There are the following schools within the ward
  • Nythe Primary School
  • Nyland Special School
  • Covingham Primary School
