Support for network mapped drives?
: According to an email from tech support, dated Nov 5, 2007 - Support already exists for Mac and Linux.
Windows will be supported sometime in 2008.
Why is my Windows CPU load to high?
: Although the user interface on Windows is easy to use, it's been found to place a load on the CPU when sending or receiving files.
Simply close the
GUI.
CrashPlan's
background service will continue to handle transfer requests.
How to backup to a local USB drive?
: According to an email from tech support, dated Nov 5, 2007 - CrashPlan, USB drive support should be arriving in 2 to 4 weeks.
Where to find a list of people willing to be a "CrashPlan friend"?
: Having a reliable CrashPlan friend is important.
It's best to use your personal networking skills to find someone that is geographically diverse from you (IE: other side of the country).
