Crash Kelly is a Canadian
indie glam rock band founded by musician
Sean Kelly [316]. The band is currently signed with
the Los Angeles based
Liquor and Poker Music
label.
Crash Kelly features Sean Kelly on lead guitar and lead
vocals, Allister Thompson on guitar and backing vocals, Jordan
Michael Stewart on bass guitar and backing vocals, and Kevin Taylor
on drums. The band released its debut album,
Penny
Pills, on January 25, 2005, and has toured across Canada,
the United States, England, Ireland, Scotland, Germany and Holland
[317]. A
sophomore album is planned for release in spring of 2006.
The
band is named after Sean's uncle, Orville "Crash" Kelly, who earned
the nickname in the 1950s as an aggressive player for the
Johnstown Jets. The Jets were a semi-professional hockey
club which has since been replaced by the
Johnstown
Chiefs.
