The Creston Valley Chargers are a Canadian football team based in Creston, British Columbia.

They play in a nine-man football league consisting of teams from the communities of Nelson, Castlegar, and Kaslo.

The team is of major importance to the small community of Creston. It has been said that the team's 2 championships in it's first 2 years have made the townsfolk proud again. This proves to be true with the club drawing 1000 to 1500 fans per game in a town of only 5000 people.
The team has been a major tourist attraction for out of towners where passers by often stop to buy Creston's delicious fruit and enjoy a football game of today's future Canadian football stars.

History

The team was founded by local gold miner Mike Leyte in 2006. The team got off to a rough start in it's inaugural season, but stormed back to win all it's playoff games and take home the championship. Leyte was awarded the key to the city in the Winter of 2006 for his accomplsihments.

The team finshed the 2007 season 11-2(bull, they lost to Bighorns and Rams respectively), and gained another championship ring (Liars, they got kicked out of the league and weren't in the real kootenay bowl. Bighorns went on to win that). The Chargers won the West Kootenay Midget Title, the only official league in the Kootenays. The most notable victory of the 2007 season was a win over arch rival Cranbrook Rams by a score of 26-19.
The Chargers won their 2006 title by losing the Kootenay Bowl and then the next day defeated Castlegar in the West Koootenay 2006 Championship Game.

Coaching Staff

The coaching staff of this team are pathetic. Their head coach, Mr.Keyte, was so out of control on the field during games that he got his team kicked out of the league. After this happened, Creston came up with lies which made it seem like they'd won the championship and had an undefeated season. In reality, the Columbia Valley Bighorns and the Cranbrook Rams both beat them. The Bighorns were the actual winners of the kootenay bowl.
Head Coach = Mike Keyte
