History
Crucible Red is a
Metalcore band from
Petaluma, California.
The band first started off in 6th grade by invisionaries, Bobby Franz and Micheal Eastman.
However, they did not start off as
Crucible Red.
They were first known as Alien Athourity, and not long after, changed to Insubordination.
Later on in their elementary childhood they invited rythm guitarist, Nolan Goolan, to join the band.
The band started off as a wanna-be anarchist/punk style band.
As the band's musical tastes changed and matured, they started playing more
rock,
thrash type songs.
Once the musicans made it to 8th grade they were in need of a bass player.
This is when Bobby Franz asked David Butler to be the bass player for Insubordination.
David agreed to give it a shot.
David had no experience playing the
bass guitar - he only had about a year of guitar experience, and a basic understanding for guitar.
As the band progressed along they changed the name of their band to
Pariah, and delcared themselves to be a rock/thrash
metal band.
Influenced by
Metallica and
Black Sabbath, they took after their interestests and began writing heavier and more powerful songs.

By 10th grade, the band had played shows here and there, and even had participated in a battle of the bands at
Petaluma High School.
However, they were in the need for another new name, due to thousands of other bands with the name
Pariah.
They decided to change it to One Last Step, despite protest of some of the band members.
Around the same period of time the band began becoming Influenced by heavier and less mainstream bands.
Some of which are
As I Lay Dying,
The Black Dahlia Murder,
Lamb of God, and other similar metal bands.
Due to their newfound influences, they began tuning their guitars to C.
The heavier tuning gave the band a heavier, deeper range to work with.
The band was still short a singer though, they attempted to tryout many people - most of which chickened out.
However, one singer stepped up to the plate, Kevin Parnow.
He was also a close friend of the band, so he fit into the band perfectly, and gave the band a new heavier, and solid sound.

The band starting getting every show they could get their hands on, they played mostly at the
Epiphany Music store in
Santa Rosa, California.
The venue was just north of the band's hometown, and the venue served as a staging ground for upcoming Northern Californian bands.
They played at this venue many times.
Eventually the time came again when the band decided to change their name once more.
Bobby Franz and Nolan Goolan coined the name Crucible Red, and presented it to their bandmates.
They all fell in love with the name, and have been known as Crucible Red ever since.
Crucible Red played their biggest show to date at the
Phoenix Theater in downtown
Petaluma, California on October 13, 2006.
It was Frequency Murder's last show ever.
The lineup included
Crucible Red, City Heat, Sabertooth Zombie(Canceled), Murder Practice, Cyanide Baptism, and headliner, Frequency Murder.
The show was a large sucsess, and had a large crowd.
